Jimi’s rendition of the National Anthem on a wet August Monday morning at Woodstock, was the last act of this iconic event. Maybe it was the last act of the sixties too, but June through September was a summer to remember. The moon landing, Charles Manson, Chappaquiddick and the Zodiac all happened. The Brady Bunch, Hee Haw and Scooby Doo started their run, Rocky Marciano and Judy Garland ended theirs - tragically. “Sweet Caroline”, “Honky Tonk Woman” and “A Boy Named Sue” were released, as was Elvis’ “In the Ghetto.” A new Chief Justice was sworn in and we listened to Abbey Road and watched Easy Rider and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. All in the back drop of the Vietnam War. Look closely in the crowd and you will see it all.
