About the Artist
As long as I can remember I’ve been an artist. As early as kindergarten, as a Ritalin child breaking all my crayons, I loved drawing. Born in Portland and raised in Bend, this passion evolved in college where as an art major I combined art with my passion for history and sports. After graduating from Oregon State University, I moved back to Portland with my now wife, Kevan, and we eventually had a daughter, Bridget. I spent a number of years focusing on family and career, but eventually found my way back to my true calling.
My original focus was painting iconic sports figures and events, but over time my work has evolved into a variety of different subject matters, while my love of history remains. I particularly love bringing to life moments in time, from sports, to music, to cinema, to people and places and everything in between. I also love telling the stories behind my work and what I’m depicting. I prefer acrylics because I’m not a fan of solvents, and I like working fast.
Over the past ten years, I have had three shows and sold almost everything. I’ve also completed numerous commission pieces and have donated and given many paintings as gifts. But painting has never been my primary career… until now. It’s time to get serious. I plan to spend the rest of my life doing what I was meant to do. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
