“Council Crest Trolley”

24” x 20” acrylic on canvas, unframed with painted sides (frame not necessary)

$400

When I was a kid growing up in Beaverton (before moving to Bend), one of our favorite places to picnic/visit was Council Crest Park. High above the city in Portland’s west hills, the views are incredible. We loved running around the circular patio, which offered arrows to mountains and other sights, AND rolling down the grassy slopes. We also enjoyed climbing on the lone retired red trolley car. I had no understanding of the history of this car. It was just fun to climb up, peer through the glass, and imagine riding on it. Later, I learned its history. This painting honors the Council Crest Trolley, and my childhood memories of this park. It’s summer on SW Morrison between 10th and 11th, around 75 years ago.

This painting is currently on display at Culmination Brewing where it is available for purchase.
