“Crystal Ballroom”

18” x 24” acrylic on canvas, framed

- SOLD -

The Crystal Ballroom is one of our favorite music venues, particularly every December when a local radio station, 94/7 KNRK, sponsors its annual “December to Remember" concert series. My wife and I typically see numerous shows there every year, and love the experience of a small venue. The sound is awesome, tickets are cheap, and there’s not a bad “seat” in the house (you pretty much stand most of the time). The Crystal offers an intimate and exciting atmosphere that’s artistically cool, well organized, and the big band era dance floor actually moves! This is a painting I did from a photo I took back in December 2019, when we enjoyed Mt. Joy, Elle King, and topped it off with Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. We were also blessed with some local acts, The Weather Machine and The Bridge City Sinners, who reminded us that there is great music right here in Portland.

The custom frame is crafted to imitate the purple with gold star awnings that now line the exterior of Ringlers Pub on the first floor of this historic building.
